MFIS is fortunate to have a very dedicated group of people who are willing to serve as our Board Members. The MFIS Board recently sought applications for open positions. Applicants have been identified, vetted, and will be voted on by the Board at the April 14th meeting.
Check the Events section of the website to see the full list of 2016-2017 Board Members.
MFIS bids a fond farewell to two of our dedicated, long-term Board Members this year. While we are extremely sad to lose their insight and guidance on the Board, we wish them the very best in new endeavors!
Daryl Sherman became involved in MFIS 20+ years ago, beginning with a Thanksgiving Day dinner to which he and his partner, Kathryn, invited two international students: Edison and Anna (Daryl still remembers their names!) Daryl has been active on the MFIS board for six years, serving as president for the past two. “Of course, getting to know the students is the best thing,” commented Daryl, “I have always enjoyed working with international students.”
Martha Olsen has served the MFIS board well for the past five years, along with her husband, Bob Nolan. Martha & Bob have always had a passion for helping international students, and got involved with MFIS shortly after moving to Madison in 2009. “We love working with international students,” said Martha recently. “I always learn so much from them. I appreciate hearing their perspective on the world.”
