Welcome Picnic

buckypic_03This year’s MFIS Welcome Picnic will be held on Saturday, September 1st from 11am-3pm at Brittingham Park on Lake Monona.  This will be a great opportunity for our international visitors to meet other new students and local residents, to ask questions, hear  stories, and experience Madison culture by spending a day at the lake!

To learn more about the MFIS Welcome Picnic and what happens at this event- read a recap from a previous Welcome Picnic here.

Registration for this event is not yet open, please check back closer to the event for more information and links to sign up for this event.  This is a free event, but registration is required for planning and catering purposes.

MFIS will be looking for approximately fifty pre-approved volunteers to act as table hosts and sports guides at this event.  Table hosts will be responsible for welcoming students to their table, engaging the students in group conversations, and answering questions about life in Madison.  After lunch, sports volunteers lead the students in some traditional US sporting games.  Both volunteers will be able to enjoy a picnic meal and participate in the festivities.  If you can volunteer your time as a host or a sports volunteer, please check back closer to the event and sign up.  We need YOU.

For the safety of our students, if you are not already an MFIS approved volunteer, you will need to fill out a Volunteer Application Form.  If you have any questions please call or email our office at (608) 263-4010 or info@mfismadison.org.

Thank you in advance for helping to make this event a success!
